I could never choose between singing and make people sing. Exchange and transmission are fundamental in my work. From time to time, I perform as a mezzo-soprano in a classical vocal quartet, but my main solo activity is focused on French chanson, jazz and bossa nova.
Almost all my concert programs include songs by Gaël Liardon, a Swiss composer and songwriter who wrote little gems on great poems. I also have a deep fondness for Michel Legrand’s songs, which are as magnificent in French as in English.
In Steve Zwygart I found a pianist equally at home playing virtuoso waltzes by Chopin and improvising on jazz standards. As well as a Legrand project, we organise live karaoke sessions of French songs. The audience is invited to experience the liberating joy of singing "guilty pleasure" songs on stage, which we support with good humour and kindness.
Bossa nova, which I sing with my band The Blue Crew, brings together all my passions: Melodies worthy of bel canto, sophisticated harmonies, polyphony, complex rhythms, wonderful texts and southern atmosphere. It even enables me to reconnect with my first love – the flute. Our pianist being a very good vocalist, we harmonise a lot together. In our monthly jam sessions, we improvise on jazz standards and revisit them in mashups, hiding here and there classical references.
In this spirit of sharing, I really enjoy choral singing, whether it's reinforcing the choirs of my fellow conductors (Chœur Francophone de ZüriCH with Géraldine Marmier, different church choirs), or taking part in a professional project (Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne as I was studying with Michel Corboz, Zürcher Sing-Akademie, Kammerchor Turicum, Vokalensemble VOX AMORIS, Callirhoé…).

SINGING
SOLO
Extracts from a concert with my friend Daniel Studer, who has since passed away. I'd love to play this repertoire again with a new accordionist...
CALLIRHOÉ
This feminine vocal ensemble based in Lausanne was founded by my colleague Dominique Tille in 2005. I used to assist him in the first years and still sing with delight, when my agenda allows it.
