CHOIR
CONDUCTING

There is something even more magical than one voice: polyphony. The fusion of different timbres creating a new timbre, purer and richer, the vibrations produced by the combination of frequencies, the singers' pulses synchronising to the beat are indescribable feelings... To be surrounded by the voices of the singers is a blessing.
Children's choirs, young adults, semi-professional ensembles, classical or gospel church choirs… My singers are between 7 and 77 years old and invest a lot in their passion, which makes them feel good and young. This requires regularity, commitment and surpassing oneself in artistic and technical work, but also a sense of collective, of staging and of celebration during moments of relaxation.
Athletic discipline and team spirit: the diversity of voices and people enriches common work, in which weaknesses dissolve. And the synergy that emanates from it motivates the singers to give the best to serve a work and an audience.
Since 2005, we have been exploring with the young choir PhoniXang, in a classic aesthetic, various styles and languages. We are members of the Association of the Franco-German Choirs of Zurich and often sing with the Chœur Francophone de ZuriCH, in a spirit of openness and intercultural exchange.
A large part of the choral repertoire is sacred. My church choir in Tägerig performs every month another work, precisely in the context for which it was composed, from Gregorian chant to gospel. The humility, the deep joy of the choristers and their sense of duty can only arouse admiration and gratitude in the assembly, and in their conductor naturally.
At the Uster Greifensee music school, I conduct three children's choirs aged 6 to 16. The programme includes classical works, pop, world music, short choreographies and lots of laughs. The music camp with 70 children and teenagers singing and playing in the orchestra is one of the highlights of the school year and an unforgettable experience for pupils and teachers alike.
